not sure if the gasket name, but as far as I know, when u run completely out of fuel you suck up any crap that has happened to make it into your fuel tank over the years, change your fuel filter/s and see how you go.

Change the filter, take the pump out of the tank, and replace the teabag. You may have even killed the pump itself too

not to bad, has a couple of minor problems. cant find the fuel filter. no one can tell me what the gasket is called in picture. Car has been stalling and running poorly but have been told that it is bad fuel. Will post pics once i get around to borrowing digi and the weather is good. So after next two days car should be running nice again. Wondering what u drive?

I drive a Celica XX, just put a 1G-GTE into it... been a 6 month trial of getting the engine in good enough shape to run, thanks to bad bearings.
All good fun in the end

What motor and what car did it come from? Might be able to find the part number in the EPC for you.
Just out of interest, the gasket between the upper and lower manifold on my 3T-GTEU was only NZ$9 imported from Japan through Toyota. 3 week wait though.

ok, Thats for the help guys, have been told that it is a surge tank gasket. But a new problem has now shown it self. Ok summary of what is wrong below is order they happened
1.I ran out of fuel on tuesday
2.Replaced fuel with full tank vortex about 10 min later
3.Car would start but splutter and stall at low rpm
4.Thought it would have been dirty fuel in the line so i went and gave it a little bit of a hard time
5.Now car will not start easily (tanks 10 to 15 min to start) but once the engine is warm there is no problem at all and the engine will start and run fine.
Note: If i leave car in hot sun for hour or so it starts but still runs ruff for 10 min or so
Car is MA70 7MGE
really need some help here guys cause it has me stumped
regards
