You mean helical LSD.  Sometimes known as a TorSen (torque sensing) diff. It's basically a little barrel full of helical gears which work in some way I don't understand to produce an LSD effect, as opposed to your conventional clutch-type LSD which is a normal spider-gear arrangement with a clutch pack in the middle.
I think www.hotstuffworks.com has a better explanation.

i found something strange.. i spun it all the way up a street(well my step dad did in my car.. but anyway)... it only left behind 1 big black line?

it might be that
i didnt get a really good look at the lines
just as i went over them my step dad said "they are mine"
ill go have a look tomorrow
