F1s absolutely rock in the wet!
In the dry, they're pretty average for the price.

Hi,
Great tyres. In the dry they're good, but in the wet they're better. Also they're pretty quiet - much quieter than the old tyres I had.

cool guys thanks!
they look nice too
well I guess wet driving is one of the biggest issues in FWD cars.. so that's gotta be good.. my car is pretty good in the dry, and I had silverstones on before and liked them a lot

You can get fantastic wear out of them. Dad got nearly 70,000k's out of a set. Might be that they are a harder type of performance tyre. That would explain the lack of grip in the dry. They seem to be pretty cheap nowa days.

I used to use them, but once I started upgrading my suspension, they couldn't cope anymore.
Good for the price though.
Depends on what size for the treadwear rating.
I couldn't get more than 40 000km out of a set.

Wife and I have these on our 95 celica, get very good wear out of them, 70k+ for the ones on the rear, just replaced the front ones. Still a bit of life left in the rears.

Man i got to stop doing burnouts
The absolute most I have ever got out of a set of tyres is 9,000 km's
Its my own fault really, I am well addicted

good dry weather grip too - quite adequite - but the test will tell at upcoming track days ..
Im guessing my rears will last though the fronts are starting to show wear

goodyear f1's are an adequate tyre... i find at the limit they are progressive to dangerous hehehe... I previously had Bridgestone SO2's on my R and there is absolutely no comparison there... but i swapped them for these and a cash adjustment...
anyway my overall impression is that they are average... once i sell this car with the F1's on em i am going back to bridgestone

goodyear F1s are excellent in the wet... they are rated to be the best wet performer out of any high performance tyre. but in the dry there are much better ones. very expensive when i got them!tyres nowadays have that independant rating with the As somewhere on it, so thats a good guide to quickly see what you can expect.

i payed $370 for my 2 front tires which are goodyear ventura V's I think there called. I thought these were the best tires in the wet?
either way they have some totally mad tread on them, and are made of silica rubber so will last a long time and are not a very hard rubber.
I have falken somethings on the back, and just cop burnouts all the time, they don't seem to ware away much, but they also don't grip much and the rubber is very hard.

Are these any good? Got a set of Silverstones on my new rims, they seem alright so far but I haven't really pushed 'em yet.

I started a thread saying I didn't like F1s a while back, nobody seemed to agree.
Grip from them seems fine, but I don't like the lack of feel due to the soft sidewalls.

hmm thanks guys.. if I get 12k out of ANY set of tires it will be a record.. hmm hehehe
I don't consider myself an expert on tyres at all, so I am very interested in how these will go..
The silverstone SSV or somethings that I had were better than the Faulkens I had before that..

Ive had the F1's for yonks nw and LOVE them. grab nice and hard in the dry and wet to boot.
i dont know how on earth people get 40,000+km's on them ive never got more then 15,000km out of a set.
nice and quiet ive noticed you do ahve to be careful if you intend on sliding in them.. they tend to let go but not make a great deal of noise so you have to feel them letting go. so if your a spastic driver and only know your sliding form the screeching of tyres get something else (dont laugh a mate of mine has the theory that if it isnt screeching it cant possibly be slipping )

when i was driving the hachi i'd average around a set every week to fortnight
