Hey,
Need help! in a 4AGZE conversion to a AE82 this weekend.
Need part numbers for the following so we can buy them.
Motor is AE101 gze.
Timing Belt (ae101 gze, is it same as 4age 86/100kw ones)??
Thermostat (same as GE/4ac ones)?
Alternator belts
Spark plugs (Whats best normal, iridium, platnium, super 4. Also wat is the correct heat range and spark plug gap? 0.8mm like 100kw?)
Brake Fluid (DOT 4 or 5, any particular brand)
What type of clutch is best to get ?
BTW i dont know what diameter it is 8" ?212mm
i think its 8 bolt.
Im thinking Daikin HD but dont really understand about brass button, triple plate etc..
What gear box oil is best?
My choices are Motul 75/90W, Castrol Syntrax 75/90W (Both fully synthetic)
or Valvoline Synthetic blend 75/85W
Should we change the supercharger oil? If so what do we use?
What engine oil is best (Mobil 1 5/50W ?)
oil filter same like all GE's z386 ???
What else should we change beside engine oil & filter and above mentioned?
? Core/welsh plugs
BTW do the gze drive shaft outer splines fit into the ae82 hub?
ALso need part number for the AE82 power steering rack bush mounts as they are worn.

I did up the head on my 4AGZE and found that the timing belt, head gasket, platnium plugs, and oil filter are all the same as a 100kw 4AGE. There is a clutch and brake place in St Marys (on Forrest rd behind 'On Two Wheels' bike shop). They supplied my h/d clutch and machined my flywheel and I never had a prob with it, it copped plenty of ABUSE too. If I couldn't F*&k it up it must be resonably strong.

Timing belt & thermostat, yeah, they'd be the same.
Alternator etc belts, just take samples up to the local Auto 1 or whatever.
Spark plugs, platinum is standard I think. I don't think there's lots of performance to gain, copper plugs must be replaced more often but are shitloads cheaper.
Brake fluid, get someone elses opinion!
Clutch, RPM (brand name owned by PBR) make some pretty good clutch kits, I don't know if they would make one to fit a GZE flywheel, which from memory is bigger than 212mm? I though 88Kw was 200, 100Kw was 212, and GZE was 220 or something? Anyway, someone will know for sure.
Box oil & charger oil someone else can advise you on.
Engine oil, I reckon Mobil 1 5W-50 is too thin for our climate, especially with the approach of summer. I would go with at least a 15W-50.
Core/welsh plugs, I would leave alone unless they look dodgy.
The other stuff, I dunno.

Timing belt Part# 13568-19145 (same as 100kw 4age) Approx $50 genuine
Waterpump Part# 16100-19115 (same as 100kw 4age) Approx $130 genuine
Oil Filter Part# 90915-YZZC4 (same as 100kw 4age) Approx $20 genuine - you cant beat the toyota oil filters...
Spark Plugs NGK Part# BCPR6EP-N8 No idea about price
People have recommended Syntrax 75/90W or Redline MT90 for the gearbox
Still trying to find out about supercharger oil... Toyota top it up at 40,000K intervals.
I use Penrite engine oil, HPR30 20W-60
Take the belts to an auto parts store and get them to match them up as stated above
Check the CV boots for splits, also check the driveshaft seals in the gearbox.
Check the rear main oil seal when you take the flywheel off
I changed the waterpump because I know of 5 different cars that have had import 4ag's put in them an had the waterpump fail after a short while, and its a real pain to swap in FWD.
Contact http://www.superpro.com.au/ for the bushes
You may find that you have a 230mm clutch with the ae101, good luck finding an off the shelf kit if it is... Measure the diameter of the clutch plate.
What are you doing for the e-series gearbox to ae82 crossmember problem?

Thanks Jason for all the info.
Yeh i'll probably change the water pump going by your experiences. In regards to the installation of the e-series box. Well, its planned that the rear gearbox mounts need to be modified and the rear of the cross-member lowered using a spacer.
The gearbox mount may have to be modified. I'll see how it unfolds. Pics to come.
Yeh i contacted Daikin Clutches Australia in Sydney and they tell me they have a 253mm PCD standard clutch with 590kg pressure.
And a ceramic clutch with 800kg pressure (TRD type).
Im not sure what the PCD means though.
Ive also spoken with Race Brakes in Sydney whom, rebuild the clutches as you desire. But need the existing 230mm clutch to exchange. They need the centre spline i think.
BTW Jason you have any ae101 gze wiring diagraphms or info i could get? i got mainly ae92 map gze ones.
