4age extractor relating to cam profile

I have heard many times that 4age extractors are good to 185HP or something like that.
but isnt the performance gained by matching up extractor length with cam profile or something like that?? I was told they have some relation.
My question is, would i gain more power by changing extractors after having higher profile cams in?? If not, why?
If it seems unclear to u, i cant figure out a better way to phrase my question

certain duration cams work in a certain rpm range.
certain extractor lengths and diameters will enhance the removal of exhaust, and the ingress of air in the intake, again, in a certain rpm range.
matching the two is a good idea, otherwise you are wasting free powah.

ps, the 185hp thing is abotut he ability of the extractors to flow gas, not necessarily abotu the tuning of the exhaust to a particular rpm range..

what do u mean by removal of exhaust?? Doesnt "exhaust" refer to the whole SYSTEM??
So what ur trying to say is changing the ext. will alter the rpm range??
sorry ur explanation is a little too technical for me. care to use easier english??

Basically, bigger cams will make your engine have more power, but at a higher RPM. Same with extractors. Different length will give you gains at different RPMs.
So if you set your cam up to give peak power at 7000rpm for eg, then you want to get your extractors made to extract the exhaust most efficiently at 7000rpm. Add both those gains together = more power and a better power band.

if i have 26X cam profile, would i benefit frm using a 20V extractor? since 20V have 250 cam profile as oposed to 240 on 16v.
Yes i know i have to change 20v flange to engine
