icon5.gif  Spare switch - What to use it for? Wed, 27 October 2004 03:15 Go to next message
Hi,

I have a spare switch on my centre console that used to switch two bright rear foglights on (put on by the last guy that had the car I suppose, but they ended up breaking from too much water getting in). Great for blinding tailgaters thats for sure!

Anyway, since I no longer have them hooked up, I have this one switch sitting in my centre console with no use what-so-ever! I am after some clever yet practical ideas on what to use it for... only because i've lost my creativity in the great creative wars of yesteryear Razz

Don't say fog lights, I have those already.

This is for my Celica XX.

I have several excellent ideas that your switch could run:

*use it to switch on neons
*use it to switch on your direct injection NOS fogger
*use it to switch a solenoid in your line locker kit for static burnouts
*use it as part of a multi stage immobiliser/killswitch system
*use it to switch on a light in you engine bay so when your car breaks down at night you can see what you are doing
*use it to switch on a water sprayer (if you have an IC or such that you want to spray water onto.

But my favourite choice would be........
*use it to switch on a washer bottle sprayer that has its sprayer nozzle attached under the rear end of your car and out of sight, make sure it sprays away from the back of your car.

Fill this washer bottle with the rankest smelling fish oil on the market Very Happy .

Someone tail gates or looks like a tool etc activate rear washer bottle filled with fish oil (with your switch) spray the stink juice onto the offending car. The smell as it goes through their air vents and as it warms on their radiator will be sickening Laughing , but will not do damage to their vehicle (it will aid in rust prevention). It would be good for a laugh, let us know how you go!

I have this because my car is cool
Embarassed

The fish oil idea, although great, could backfire very very easily.

Neons are ghey!

NAWZZZZZ is ghey too

Burnouts just don't do it for me...

Killswitch might be handy, but it's in plain view... plus passengers would be tempted to piss me off with it.

Water spray onto intercooler is a good idea, I can see that working! Also a good motivation for me to move the battery into the boot so I have room for a large water container Smile

1G-GZE would be better, but no thanks! Just put a 1G-GTE in Razz

I'm hard to please!

Rear foggies were too lame, and looked crappy and tacky.

I like the idea of the machine gun though... it'd be hand to have one at the front for taking out those people with road-rage though! Smile Evil or Very Mad

Boost controller switch is an interesting idea!!

Seat ejection would be funny, but thats way too much effort just to get rid of the passenger, i'm better off punching them in the head and pushing them out the window Wink

This is what the switch on my dash is used for (I didn't put this in my list of switch ideas above because I thought it would be too sensible Laughing )

Please note all of my ideas in my original post were just for a laugh, like this ----> Laughing .

I think that the boost controller switch inside the car is a good option (very handy), much more stealth and less tacky that a rocket launcher style switch. Mine even has a tiny little light in it which is either on or off depending on the boost it is switched to. Very effective and neat Very Happy

Put a label underneath it saying " DO NOT TOUCH"

Hook it up to a horn underneath the passenger seat and let the games begin.

Make sure, that when you have a new passenger in the car, and you stop for petrol, on exitting, tell them NOT to touch it, and wait. Twisted Evil

hook it up to your thermo fans....summer is around the corner and the bloody things dont turn on all the time. so in my idea that is a very practical solution to you car boiling. Cool

Thermos should come on if it's hot enough, the switch temp will still be the same, in fact, they should just come on sooner! Smile

One other thing, he doesn't have them Razz

I think you should label it "HTFSIK"

Then when people ask what its for tell them

"How The Fuck Should I Know"

and see how long till the penny drops.

hahahaha

http://www.users.on.net/~hydra/celixx/new/latestcelixx0023.JPG

It's the switch with the orange spot on it.

The one up front is for the foglights, the two way switch is door lock / unlock.

Although I currently dont have thermo fans, I plan on fucking off the standard fan and putting in some AU thermo's!

If the orange dot is a light then use the switch to turn it on.
And if the passenger asks what it for, "It makes the car go faster".

In my car i've got two buttons on the wheel that look like the ol' NOS switchs and no matter how many times i've said their for the horn the passengers still have to push them. Laughing

EDIT: Spelling
"Damn it, i should go back to school and learn to spall again"

Would it be a worthwhile upgrade for my GZ20?

Are you talking about AU Falcoon 4.0L 6 Cylinder ones?
