It's not running lean at higher rpm?
Also, do you have the jza70 radiator and fan assembly - with fan control computer working properly (although low fan speed usually causes overheating when going slowly/idling).
Have you bled the air out of the system?

Agree with lumpy, it could be running too lean on the highway. Adding more fuel will stop that.
Should be running at 92C, and I hope your fan setup works fine.

thanks and sorry for late response, having problems with the net.
the fan control unit is fitted connected to the rad. temp sensor.
can't be lean too cause i put her on the dyno months ago and the AFR:P was 10.2 at 150kph

That AFR would have been at WOT though, from your description of the problem it's happening under light load/cruise. Could be a faulty gauge - try hooking an aftermarket one up (if only temporarily) to see what happens. Has the raidator been flushed or cleaned since you put the engine in? (I'm guessing it's the jap radiator).

yep, the radiator and the car is jap.
i flushed it not long ago
sorry what i meant was it overheat when i WOT (full std boost 9psi) at that speed but as soon as i back off. the temp start dropping back to normal
most likely i will put some sort of aftermarket temp gauge and see what happens. and hope it's a faulty gauge but i doubt it.
thanks lumpy

Ahhh... mine did that with the jap raditor when at WOT for a longish period of time (like a blast up the hills). I got the radiator pulled apart and cleaned - found it was blocked with a lot of shit and not working effectively. Apparently just flushing out doesn't remove all of the crap, they pull the radiator apart (top and bottom tanks removed) and use long brushes to clean out the core. I never noticed it overheating in the summer time in traffic, only when flat out for a period of time - as the heat load on the engine is much higher at WOT even though there is more airflow over the radiator.
In the end, I got a new radiator because the top tank on my jap one was cracked and they couldn't find another one to fit (a whole new long and expensive story).

I'd be looking at the radiator as well.
When my car was overheating at highway speeds (and not around the city) it was a clogged radiator.
Cheers
