Do a search on the forum, as it has come up many times.
Also get in contact with Norbie, he converted his car from Auto to Manual though he has a 2JZ-GTE in his.
Cheers.

If you have a manual donor car, it should just be an easy swapping affair (gearbox, flywheel, clutch and brake pedals, clutch line, clutch master, clutch slave, gearbox crossmember, tail shaft) Just swap everything and it should be fine, tho I would look at getting an uprated clutch.
I think that the auto 7mgte ecu will be fine (just have to short the neutral start switch from the auto box).
Cheers

The swap itself is not too hard (swapped in a W58 into a Mk2 with 7M-GTE that had an A340E), but a bit of a pain.
Suggested new parts are flywheel bolts ($2 ea from Toyota), new fill and sump plugs for the gearbox and a new rear seal.
I didn't have to bypass the NSBU switch, but then also had to run separate wires to get the reverse lights working, so my luck may be related to the dodgy wiring (the car was bought with the 7M already in) that I have discovered.
I also have the auto ECU.
Here is a pic of my clutch (6 puck sprung centre custom jobbie form Adelaide Clutch) & PP (2000lb Barry Grant modified item)

Haven't driven car yet, but clutch doesn't seem to be heavy at all

Thanks bbaacchhyy...how long did it take you to do it?
Could it be done in 1 day?

It took me longer, but I took my time and didn't have all the parts on me. It would be a long day, but it could be done if you do a bit of prep work.
I'd get the flywheel machined as well, and get a new clutch and get the PP tested as well. Just because someone said it wa HD, doesn't mean it is. If it is from behind a 5M-E, what is HD for that won't be for a 7M-GTE !!!

sorry to hi-jack the thread but is there a difference between the 7M Auto ECU and the manual ECU peformance wise?
