At the top it says 162.5kW. Was that at the wheels? Does anyone know what boost it was at and if it was the R32 or R33 turbo?
Cheers

This from reading the article: rear wheel power figure 6800 rpm @ 12psi using the RB20 turbo.

Are you sure that was rear wheel horse power? I am running a T28 off a 200sx @ 18psi and only managed 151KW. Was the turbo stock?
Thanks

Power figures can differ quite substantially from one Dyno to the next or even on the same dyno if the calibration gets fucked up.
I would assume it is rear wheel power figure as there are not that many places using engine dynos (setting up an engine on an engine dyno is quite time consuming) or it is then a calculated flywheel figure. But I still think the safe money is on an 'at the wheels figure'.

Youngy thanks for that. I must have been too busy looking at the pics
Power figures are always different on dyno's. Remember that even though you have a T28 from an S14, how well is your ECU tuned? Its things like that, that make a difference.

and which S14 turbo was that? As I remember the earlier ones had one similiar to a CA18, the later ones had the ball bearing turbo.
Mine made 141 Kw at the wheels with an RB20 turbo, with a potentially restrictive cooler, improperly tuned LPG carbie and a case of general grumpiness. Now its got a custom cooler, custom plenum, RB25 turbo and a few other tricks (like another engine to replace the one I busted!) I'll letcha's know what it does when it gets tuned in the next few days.

I went back through some old issues of Zoom that i have and found three individual 4AGTE's
All were using standard internals (pretty much) and aftermarket turbochargers.
The power figures at the wheels were:
Yogi's Sillycar - 159kw @ 18psi
Cortina - 141kw @ 16psi (i think)
1200 ute - 186kw @ 26psi
So ive come to the conclusion that it's more than likely a flywheel figure.
Ive heard numerous times that a 14psi pulley kit for the stupercharger will yeild approx 200hp or 147kw at the flywheel. Given that a turbo is more efficient, Mick's 162kw @ 12psi as a flywheel figure makes sense, even taking into account the adjustable cam gears and higher lift cams.
Given that Dyno's have been known to differ by up to 10%, A 10% power difference is still not enough to put Mick's car up there with the other three given his comparatively low boost pressure.
It could be ether an estimated (but why the .00 accuracy?) or an engine dyno (the engine did spend a fair time outside of the car)
Also Youngy, I couldnt find anywhere that it says 'rear wheel figure'

Nah, didn't stuff a 4agze clutch, withing something reasonably priced managed to get a tiny 200mm one with far more clamp load anyway, and so far its been happy...
As for power figures, hopefully I'll have something like 200 at the wheels when I chase up the vacuum leak and get another tune

That is very true Rex it does not say 'rear wheel figure' anywhere in the article. As I alluded to before the cost of setting up an engine on an engine dyno in terms of time and logistics can be a real pain. How many places have you been to that have an engine dyno?
Based on that and the fact/assumption that no where in the article does it say 'flywheel figure', I went with rear wheel power figure.

Actually, to be honest there are atleast 3 engine dynos and 5 chassis dynos that i know of within 5 - 40mins drive from my house.
That what i get for living in Adelaide though (apparently Adelaide has the highest workshop to dyno ratio in Oz)
