Hey everyone,

G'day,
From My experience it could mean that the alternator is not charging the battery (which means it's stuffed) or the alternator has a loose connection some where in the charging system if it only happens when you are on the move...
Cheers, hope that helps

Yes, it's definitely a problem with the charging system, not the battery.

Well I found out the hard way what the Red Charge light means . My car is now dead.
Drove it for awhile (4hours lets say) then tonite at about 10pm was driving down the highway in Coffs and all the lights started to go dim so pull over and it just died.
Could see anything was to dark so I called NRMA ROAD SIDE SERVICE (everyone should have this) we had a look at it and found the earth on the engine block (Left hand side going to left strut tower) burnt out and so did the wires going to the Alternator and i'm not sure if the Alternator is dead to.
So he charged the battery to about 12.6 volts and said i should be able to get home.
Car dies 5mins from home. Took me 15mins to get coverage and phone mum. She phones NRMA.
About 50 people past with out stopping besides 2. Both young people.
The every helpful NRMA guy tooked a battery booster thing up and he follows me home and tells me I can call the Tow truck tomorow to take it to a auto elect. to get it fixed.
So that was is my fun Friday nite. Yah.
I think the moral of the story is to look and listen to what your car is trying to tell you and get it fixed....and have NRMA road side service.
