Guys after problem after problem with my gearbox and cables, i narrowed down my problem to worn synchro in third. It would crunch on upshift and downshift. I was recommended REDLINE superweight shockproof gear oil from many american Mr2 owners, that not only would it stop the crunching but would make the box feel alot better and they were right! Just saved me alot of cash on a box rebuild!

This might be of interest, too: a friend who recommends the Redline gear oil also says Castrol VMX is good stuff.

I'd love to pick my self up a few litres. Where did you get it from, is it available from stores here, or import only? And what's the LSD additive you were referring to in another thread?

I found that putting in a decent quality fully synthetic gearbox oil (75W-90) makes the gearbox mesh in much nicer than the stuff put in by Toyota.
