Just wanted to clear something up for ya,
U mentioned ST162 GT Turbo, just to clear it up. its actually called a st165. The St162 are actually a non turbo 3sge with 103kw, the japanese gen 1 3sge have about 112kw ish...

Regards
I'm not too familiar with the rest. i'm pretty sure the SW20 has about 117kw from the 3sge gen 2

Good luck mate!

My pic would be on the st165 gt4 hehehe

Given how utterly awesome Tasmanian roads are, but also how much it rains down there I'd go the GT4, would be so much easier to drive. The MR2 would be more fun, and quite quick in the dry, but they do require a fair bit of driving experience to get around as they have a somewhat un-natural feeling (to some anyway) due to the mid-engine layout.

If you are just after power figures, use google man!

Dude,

Check out this site.

They have import GT4's form time to time.

Or there's one on Carsales at the moment

"http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_conten t.private_vehicle?vehicle_id=122881&current_re c=5&total_rec=5&sort_type=&make_id=8&a mp;model_id=31&badge_id=34353&state_id=-1& amp;search_distance=25"

Cheers
T.

Importing MR2's isn't going to be easy as it isn't a SEVS listed vehicle, so unless you want to get a AW11 I dont like your chances of getting an SW20 in.

I currently drive a N/A SW20, lots of fun, of course a turbo one would be better but for a $12K car I'm not complaining. Beats every 2.0L N/A off the line so far, beats Commy V6's(auto one would think..), havn't put it up against a V8 yet. Certainly outhandles(in the dry) anything that isn't a Audi or euro import luxobarge.

The SW20 has about 160KW so does the JDM ST185. The late model SW20 has the gen3 engine wich makes a fair wack more power but it only came out in late 1993 so I don't like the chances of importing one.

You can import a 1989 build SW20 as a 15 year old import, I don't know if you're going to get a ST185 imported though.

There seems to be some ST185's in japan with build date from late '89.
I have seen a few listed on j-spec for very cheap (sub $6000 landed) and have been tempted to buy one for parts.
