my gearbox?
hmm.. 2months after the conversion..

Reason why is drive shafts/cv's/ weren't tightened.. they dried up. Wheel bearing was pretty bad.. you could feel the break peddle pumping.

It still slots in.. its just 50% of the time it goes really hard.. and shifting takes alot of effort to make it slot in.

Ive got the gearbox ready.. Supposed to get my uncle to install it.. But he's one of those family members you dont really get along with.. the only time you see them is like on outings or if you need something done on the car. so im just affraid to ask and i dont have the money to get it done by a shop

JHey troy, a bit of brass in your oil isn't so bad, the synchros are made from a soft metal (brass) so it can wear a bit.
Just replace the oil 2-3 times in a week, & that should fluch most of it out. You should have seen the amount of brass in my 'box when I opened it up, you would have thought the synchros would have worn totally away, but they looked way better than I expected. It was all the other metal in my gearbox that worried me (but at least there were no gear teeth Very Happy ).

Troy send me the large version of the pic and I should be able to get the avatar looking better.

After all, I could be partly responsible for that 3rd gear blowing Laughing

Hey Troy,

What kind of exhaust system are you running?
ie: size, cat, muffler etc...
oh yeh and are you extractors 1.75 or 1.5 inch?

Just wondering what makes a GZE sound 'awesome' Smile

Regards,
Liam.

Hey Troy, I have no idea why my avatar looks so clear, I was proud enough of the fact I managed to rotate the pic to get the ground level, crop it, then reduce the pic to avatar size and convert it to a jpg!
I tell you what, I'm learning a thing or two about these fandangled com-pu-ter things, it's only taken the last 15 years or so. Laughing

Not that I've ever tried very hard though. I'll find my way around a piston engine no worries (I havn't quite got hang of the jet engines yet Razz ) but ask me to find my way around a computer.......... um, I think there's something on my car I need to go fix. Very Happy

Joe, that was taken at Tom Ugly's Bridge. Wanna go? I want to take a photo of my car there too.

Smile

Gotta bring along a couple of big flashes though so that the car comes out in white light rather than the yellow.

Matt:

mine was done at liverpool exhaust..

2.5 is really good... gotta let her breath...

ur right .. its as loud as at 115dB

it really depends.. just dont get a cannon style muffler..

or do what i did..

put a flange in... that way .. u can use ur current exhaust as the end.. and when u wanna let ir rip.. put the canon on... or get high flow exhaust (non cannon style)....
