Hi all...im new to this and have registered for the sole purpose that someone can hopefully shed some light into my problem. I own a cressida with a 5ME engine and i think i've stuffed up the hoses and would like some sort of diagram or chart as a guide....there are vacuum hoses i think they are that don't look right....im also trying to get a roadworthy certificate for it and as a pensioner i don't want to get ripped off blind so if anyone in australia/victoria knows anywhere that would greatly be appreciated in this post..thanks for your time

wilbo666: that picture with the vacum hose leading to the canister was most helpful..that was 1 out of place....also the 2 items on the front of the rocker head cover im not sure about...from the 1 in the middle 3 cords lead to the left side of the engine bay and it looks to me as thoe there is a cord missing....im not quite sure what to do about that or the one closer to the front which looks like a solaniod to me

As the picture says, are they the two things you are asking about? (btw is your car an MX73 or MX62?)
In the above picture, the one to the left is the vacuum valve for the Air Con idle up (it has a plug to switch it on/off) and two hoses. The hoses goto the thing on top of the inlet plenum (in picture below).

The other thing in the top picture (the thing on the right) is something to do with the air pump. You should be able to make it out from that picture? If not let me know.

wilbo: yes my car is an mx62, and yes those 2 things are what i meant earlier,i can see that theres a problem...as you described the one to the right which has somthing to do with the air pump...that has a hose connecting to it leading away from the picture into the background and not the 3 hoses leading to the foreground. I see that mine doesn't have that hose and i have no idea where it leads to....i hope im being as detailed as possible...let me know your opinion.
thanks again champ

wilbo666: also the engine makes a differn't sound then i last remembered...i had a friend over and his thought on it was that it's a normal sound the efi makes but to me it's differn't...sorta like theres an airhole leak or a vacuum hose is out of place..possibly the one thats meant to be in air pump...but i have no idea im just hypothisising

I had a feeling you were after the hose that wasn't clearly shown in that picture, I'll try and take a picture of it as soon as I can.
