exa would probably take it, having a few years more engineering.

i think you're assessment of situation is incorrect... the correct answer is that you will have the least rice'd up car amongst your friends... and that they'll always be the ones to get a speeding ticket.

deride the Swift all you like, but currently one of those is one of the fastest cars in Improved Production racing... damn quick little car, and it's not as if it doesn't have good competition either!

i recon the swift is a mad little car, i was gonna buy one today actually but it was already sold Sad

they may be riced but it doesnt take away the fact that for its category its one of the top in its class. so you cant knock the car for what PEOPLE do to it

My TE37 Corolla (very similar to TA22 GT) will beat a EXA turbo. It all depends on your engine mods. I have a 3T-G with 305 degree camshafts. Maybe about 160hp at best. I have beaten EXA turbos up a hill, along a strait, around a track, every which way. This is with the older shape square EXA. But if the EXA had some engine work, more boost etc, it could be very even. The EXA will probably be quicker than a standard 2T-G.

With the right mods a TA22 with 2T-G will be even with all the cars mentioned above. Getting a whole 3T-GTE would be one solution. Or just go with a 3T bottom end, big cams, big sidedrafts, lighter flywheel. A 260Z is nothing special.

It is interesting how easily you diss the 260Z considering it is completely standard yet considerably quicker than a suzuki swift with an import manifold and pod filter, way faster than the exa and also quicker that the six port RX7 yet it is by far the oldast of the three cars.

It is the oldast car, in some cases by over 15years...is the only standard car and is also the fastest and best handling. It certainly deserves a little respect doesnt it???

Fade-e: Yep it's my car it's sorta a green on gold metalic finish, photos can't really capture it though lol not bad for a 16 year old hey?

Crofty 20: I think that the old skool Datsun 260z's are an awesome car in fact if i hadn't of come across Kermit here i'd prob have one lol so yeah i get plenty of respect for em, once saw one with a 5 litre chev motor in it but i was a few grand short

If someone can teach me how i will post some better pictures

Thanks guys
Joel

the 260Z would have been better if it hadnt been strangled by emmisions standards. a 240Z (which has a purer shape i rekon) is 200cc smaller, yet has marginally more HP and a bit more torque, not to mention lighter. then theres the 280Z Crying or Very Sad

I have a stock 2TGEU (8.4:1) and I've beaten EXAs. many times. Non-turbo of course. With a 4000rpm dump, you'll take them. Only problem with the 2TGEU (mine at least) is the lack of torque under 4grand.
PS EXAs suck. And so do their drivers. In my experiece a bunch of girls.

And the EXA's are SO ugly - the worst of 80's Jap origami "styling"

Very true about the exa - that shape is a shoker.
The 260Z was only less powerful on the cars that went to anerica though as australia did not have the same strictness on the emission standards.
Mine (which is a 2+2 due to lack of money Sad ) has twin 2 1/4 inch su's and is making a good 180bhp which is sufficiently more than a 240Z.
A 240Z definately has the purest shape though.
The only advantage found in a 2+2 is there 50/50 weight distribution which helps get rid of a bit of the tailyness.
Yeah there are sum wack conversions out there, have seen a 260Z with a RB26DETT which was awesome.
Celicas are definately a better option than the EXA though as old school mixed with RWD makes for the ultimate combination which no new FWD car can match....u can always upgrade Christo! Cool

Keep the classic celicas goin hard man! all you need is a nice paintjob and some nice wheels and itl look better than any swift or rx7 s2 etc, since its a RWD there are plenty of engine options out there for you.. it all comes down to your own liking, but a 2TG has abit of potential so dont underestimate it!
they are a strong engine and respond very well to the usual mods like porting,exhaust,cams,boring/stroking etc..

nos .... it truely is horespower in a bottle.

a descent not so rich setup will see near any ta22 get a 100% power increase.

you will definately shock a fair few people with a nice stealth install.

i think george from gt auto in SA did a stealth install in a YRV (hid the bottle in a fake sub box) and got 80% power increase.

bar nos was stock as a rock.

food for thought

Nathan

PS remember ... nos illegal on roads... anyways these days its best left at the track racing.

My old 2TG in a corolla spanked naturally aspirated Exas (the ugly angular ones).

The Exas here (Canberra) have been getting called "Sexas" by their owners, it would have to be the gayest thing I have ever seen or heard. They put an "S" in front of the Exa sticker Rolling Eyes .

I am sure the ladies flock to the "Sexa" and it's 2 foot tall occupants dressed in luminescent white FuBu attire like flies to shit Laughing

NB: I am sure there are some normal folk out there that drive the "Sexa"
