MA70 Supra Diff AE86??

Hey ladies and Gents, i am after some info on whether it is advisable to convert a MA70 supra diff to fit into my Aust delivered AE86. I have a fully re-built, balanced bottom end, polished & shot peened rods, custom Exhaust manifold, custom AE92 plenum, GZE throttle body, custom oil cooler, custom oil filter remote mount, and a TD05 turbo from a mitsubishi Evo 5. (this machining and work has been performed on a 4AGZE) I am keen on running a fair amount of boost, with perfect tuning from aftermarket Computer. Also considering supra 5 speed(new bellhousing adaptor) and also MA70 booster and Master Cylinder. Brakes are next. Reason for supra rear end, is that the trueno disk lsd rear is ridiculously expensive, and knowing m7y luck i will demolish it anyway.Car to be used in hill climb, drift comp and one off drag meet. Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated!! Also I am thinkin of manufacturing a number of Steering wheel spacers for the 86, any interest would be appreciated. Aluminium, 50-65mm spacing. I have a 65 of my 86 and she is perfect!! Parts will be anodised!!

No idea about the diff sorry, though i thought MA70s had an independant rear?
Interested in a spacer though, if they're reasonably price, like $60-70.

The MA70 is IRS, and even so, it is 8" CW&P - slight overkill.
Probably what may be better is a 7.5" (F Series) live axle from a crwon or similar and get it cut down to suit.
Then comes the issues of stud pattern etc.

Yep, MA70 is IRS. You could adapt it to fit, but you'd end up with wheels sticking out the guards a foot either side, and the car would weigh an extra 200kg. You'd never break it though!

you should seriously do this, i am a frim beliver that the G series is a very tough diff and you would sturggle to break it, the IRS would also be handy, i say if you wanna do it then go hard
I dont know muhc about the technical side of doing a conversion such as this but I would imagine you would have to put supra or soarer struts in the rear and shorten the axels which wouldnt be overly difficult.
Your best bet would be to buy an entire rear crossmember from a wrecker, struts, diff, brakes, axels and all and see how it goes

did I say it would be a one day job?
no...
But it wouldnt be impossible.
Norbie " " is not a suitable answer to my comments, why dont you enlighten us on what you would actually have to do...

But near enough.
It is not a matter off just shortening axles, the suspension arms also come into play. Then there is the physical size of it.
Nothing is impossible, just highly impractical and of no value whatsoever. It would cost soooooooo much more to do, for no gain.

Step 1: look at the arse end of an AE86.
Step 2: look at the arse end of a MA70.
Any other questions of simplicity will quickly answer themselves.
