.....yes definetly a great price...
Performance wise you should by yourself an MR2 3sgte ...
or spend your $8k on this one and buy yourself a Gen 3 halfcut 3sgte $6k and another $2500 to fit........ahhh, you'll definetly get bored driving around in a N/A MR2.

$8000 sounds a little too cheap, any idea what year model it is? If it is an import like Alchemist said, it's most likely a 89 model, if that's the case I doubt the k's are genuine.

look at the interior and motor wear ie bolts etc... this will give you a clear indicator of the k's being right or wrong. Senor_2 would u belive i brought a 1990 sw20 gt with only 42,000 on the clock 2.5 yrs ago? (only got 75,000 now) It can happen and u may be fortunate to find something like this.

MR. 2 I do believe that u can find genuine low km examples (my 2 has done 23000 in the 4 years I've owned it), it's just that after the number of dodgy "low km" cars I have seen come in people should be very careful when a 'too good to be true' example pops up.
On a side note, anyone for a SW20 dedicated thread??

I was looking at a getting a sw20 but found out its $4300 comp insurance . My mate has 2 mr2s one bathurst daily diver and a 3sgte converted import dedicated for track days. His best mate owns the [DEFECT] showcar mr2, he loves his mr2s hes had and driven most performance cars you can think of and he says the mr2 is the ultimate, last month he sold his daily driver bathurst for a older model Porsche 911 carrera .
What are you guys paying for insurance, comp or 3rd party?.
Regards.

Well he's about right....I would except the average price of an SW20 to be $11-14,000 for a N/A. Of course there is cheaper, but you usually get what you pay for.

Yeah chances are it's not going to cost that much to fix your car should you break it .
I'm only going with 3rd party fire and theft untill i'm over 25.
With my driving record it still gunna cost me heaps.
but it's better than paying millions of dollars should i put somebody in a wheelchair .

well i enquired about an SW20 and an MA61 and the insurance is slightly higher for the MA61. This was with just cars.
for me:
18y/o
Male
1 Crash (my fault)
2 years driving
1 year on insurance
MA61 3rd property = $300
MA61 3rd fire/theft = $550
MA61 full Comp = $2200
SW20 3rd property = $300
SW20 3rd fire/theft = $550
SW20 full Comp = $2100
