I have since found that all is not lost and that my project will go ahead but i'll be needing a car to drive while mine is in peices.
Any ideas ?

I have a 1984 Ford Laser.

Ran out of rego 3 weeks ago. Drove it to brisbane and back 2 months ago, great car. manual.

$100.

1980 volvo 244 auto $500 with 1 month rego these make excelent parts chasers!

A friend of mine has an RA40 celica - liftback, that only needs the clutch done and some rego. The engine is a little smokey but it still runs fine, battery may be dead now too. He'd be happy with $250 ono. It's in canberra - palmerston.
