Try doing a search for the 1jz-gte swap, should be plenty of info on it here.

Good engine, bulletproof.
You need the 1jzgte auto trans and ecu.
Easiest is to get a JZX90 or JZX100 front cut (as I believe they have a front sump like yours)

I like your v-8, CrUZida, I just dont know if its worth the pain of the electronics for me. Whats the go with computers, do you guys genrally use aftermarket gear ( motec, ect)?
What is the 7MGTEU ? Are they any good?
I was originally looking at putting in a ford windsor V-8 but would like to keep it in the same brand.
What other choices are there?
Do many other people bother to hot up these old Cressies?

Not many ppl do up the MX73
Putting a 1uz/1jz into the MX83 is getting very popular.
The wiring is very simple if you can read a diagram (and if you can get one!)
Its easier to wire up the factory ecu than an aftermarket one, providing you have everything.
People go aftermarket when they plan to modify the engine past stock specs.
There is only so much boost a stock ecu can control the fuel for.
7mgte is good, and a very simple swap.
Be prepared for another $500-$1000 repair when the headgasket blows.
Aftermarket gear ranges from Wolf3d, Microtech, Haltech, Autronic, and MoTeC, depending on how much you want to spend
That was typed in cheapest to most expensive.
