I don't think it matters what it is...
i have a new VDO speedo and it has inbuilt calibration settings...
all i would need to know is how many pulses it has per KM and punch it into my speedo to calibrate it
how much would i be looking for these senders delivered...
i'm in melbourne... eastern suburbs

I'm not sideshow but.
To get your speedo working correctly, you need to use the speedo gear from your cars original gearbox (was manual right?). This is providing you haven't screwed it with diff ratios or wheels.
To get the tacho working, you'll most likely need to get it recalibrated for a 6. There are plenty of places that can do this for you.

i am sideshow
if yr speedo is out by a fraction u can get
electronic speedo ratio boxes which u can adjust the output to recalibrate the sppedo
these can also be used when fitting a 6cyl engine to a 4cyl tacho they cost about 200 bucks
so if u dont want to fart ass around removing dash and gettin yr tacho redone then this is easier way
to get tacho redone will cost about 100 to 150 depending what is needed

the speedo works fine but the tacho isn't hooked up. I've been wanting to hook it up but people have told me that it needs to be recalibtrated and that sprinter tachos use different signals than what a 1ggte puts out.
I'm a bit lost with it all and i would love a A to B answer as to how i can hook this tacho up.
(sorry for thread hogging )

well the sprinte has a 4cyl tacho
with the 1gg being a 6cyl yr tacho will read 1200 rpm when the engine is at 800 rpm
plus yr sprinter tacho runs off neg coil
where yr 1gg tacho would run of the ig- signal from the ignitor
i sell 4 types of signal boosters
prices range from 30 to 150 bucks
the commomn one i use on microtechs and sprinters is the cheaper one
even if u get tacho working with signal booster it will still be innacurate
so thats where you need an electronic ratio box
so u have to decide which way to go
either get tacho modified to suit the weak 1gg signal and also modified to suit a 6cyl engine
or fit a signal booster and an electronic ratio box
i can supply u an electronic ratio box and signal booster
