Melbourne Cup Tips Mon, 01 November 2004 09:21 Go to next message
Just wondering what you are all going to be putting your money on and Why? Ill give what i believe to be good chances based on the form etc, but i am noway an expert and they will probably run last Razz

These ar in no particular order:

Pacific Dancer - Won the Geelong Cup a good form race for the Melb. Cup (kiwi Jockey though which is a minus)

She's Archie - 2nd Last year in the Cup, can obviously stay the distance ( Has some injury doubts but im taking her on trust)

Distinction - Overseas horse, has won over 2800m looks to have some ability (has had a muscle strain and hence was scrathced from the Caulfield Cup)

Vinnie Roe - Overseas horse, loves the wet (havnt heard if it rained today in melb) and will only run if the track is soft, if it has rained will start short favourite

Makybe Diva - Favourite, Won the cup last year, im only taking it for a place as i think it might get held up and find it hard to get a run if he doesnt try for the lead.

Thats my picks for the race, there are 24 horses in it so there is lots of value in some of the other horses, especially those who can run the 2miles.

What are you guys backing?

Cheers,
Scott

i've won the last 2 melbourne cups in a row, so im gonna try go for a hat-trick Very Happy

The way i do it, u rock up to the TAB and choose the one you have a gut feeling about with a middle odds. Not the favourite and not the one with the worst odds.

So far i've got myself just over $1000, not bad since im not a gambling person Very Happy

only won $180 yesterday Razz I love that horse Very Happy

Only reason i chose her again, is coz she was good to me last year, otherwise i never pick favourites...
