Stupid Question But Just curious. 4A block (was 4A-C) + 4A-GE Head (from 4A-GE obviously)

I know this may sound REALLY REALLY stupid but if someone could answer this anyway, it would take a load off me because im really curious about it.
Say for instance, you have the base off a 4A-C from an AE82 with the stock auto transmission...
You also have a 4A-GE head.
Would they be able to 'bolt' straight onto eachother without any modification at all? (Now remember, im just curious because it just sounds a little wierd thats all.)
Or would you require some obsurd ammount of money to do all these fittings and stuff like that?
So what I'm trying to say is, you would have a 4A-C block, and you would have a 4A-GE head, so you would be taking the 4A-C's head off, and attempting to 'bolt on' a 4A-GE head, which would be an EFI setup instead of a Carby setup. (I know you have to change alot of other stuff for the EFI to work I hear but thats beside the point.)
And of course, if they did bolt on without hassle, would it work?
I'm just curious because someone told me I should do that, and I go "I don't think its possible." and now its kept bugging me lol.

It's sort of like asking if you can dig a quarry with a shovel - sure it's doable, but it'll seriously underperform!

2A, 3A, 4A, 4A-C, and 4A-GE, all use the same block.
If you have a 4A-GE with stuffed bottom end, transferring head and timing gear to a 4A should not be a problem. Pistons would also need to be changed to 4A-GE.
2A 76.23mm bore.
3A 77.73mm bore.
4A/4A-GE 81.23mm bore.
regards Chuck.
