How could you tell by looking at the turbo that it is a T28bb off the S15 and not the T25?
Is there a part number for this?

Need help

Thanks

I've heard it said before that you can tell a ball-bearing T28 from a plain bearing T28 by the number of bolts holding the exhaust housing to the core. BB has 6, Plain has 4.

Never seen it myself so can't vouch for accuracy though.

T25 would probably also be 4 bolt only. Or just measure.

The T28 has a WAY bigger exhaust housing. It's really obvious from looking at it. T28 is basically a T25 with a T03 exhaust housing.

Sorry to hi-jeck the thread, but have many people swapped the stock 1JZ turbos for a pair of T28 BB's? I might look at doing this in about 3 years time, just interested thats all.
