anyone remember the Jaguar advertisment where they had a gold Jag? what they did to the jag for the ad, was just apply a gold film over the actual car. the job was done by a tinting company in Sydney (Ashfield). i think this car might have had the same thing done to it...

the merc and the gtr are nice cant stand the bimmer though, the guards and front bumper are hideous and the cra looks like its plastic like some cheap chromie designs. They have successfully ruined a once nice cars, bimmers are not about rice they are stylish cars look at an m3 hardly a hint of a body kit yet still has so much presence.
I would love an audi rs4, only hint of the 280kw lurking under the bonnet is the wide guards to fit some fat tyres under. There is one around my area and any time I see it I try and catch up to it to have a look, nothing better than a nice q car.

You can get paint that gives a very nice chromed effect like that - it's a specially treated aluminium pigment with very high brightness. The particles "leaf" together like flat plates over the surface - it's used for things like shadow chrome on wheels etc. Pretty damn expensive, but looks like a mirror when done properly.
You'd hate to be driving anywhere near it in the sunshine though!

Lumpy is right it's a special paint and also uses some bloody expensive process to actually get it to work out properly.
Those mercs were done by some european artists for the Mercedes catalogue.. they had a bunch of new Mercs done using the special chroming process and then took these mad photos around europe. I used to have all the pics in super high-res but dunno what happened to them. Some amazing photos.
There is a company in Sydney that can actually do your car like this now, a mate who's an apprentice spray painter was telling me about it.. it doesn't actually cost -that- much but it's not the same process as on the Mercs or the Beemer. Still looks phat on the right cars though (and -CRAP- on the wrong cars!)
