Drop tank for Celica Thu, 04 November 2004 00:22 Go to next message
Hi all - anyone out there put a drop tank on a celica?

Thoughts?

Personally I think it would look tuff - I'm looking into it for my ra23..not one as huge as a torrie or anything like that - just a *probably custom* suitable one for a celica?

Though one thing - I'm all ready mindful of is ground clearance - my celica is all ready go kart style close to the ground Very Happy

i've got one in my TA23, it looks good but not worth the trouble IMO. only reason i did it was because the previous owner had 'show car' dreams so when i got the car (completely stripped)it had a hole in the boot and the filler cap welded over. i'll try and dig up a photo.

the car's not running yet but it will need to be certified (engineering certificate, not sure what they call it in Aussie) because of the tank, i'd say i've lost some rigidity but i'm going to bolt some nice thick bars over the top of the tank before it goes on the road to sort that out.

cheers
Matt

just searched through my 100 or so photo's of the car, not a single one of the drop tank Confused i guess its cause the car is always rear end into the garage. i'll try and get hold of a couple when the digicam comes back,

cheers
Matt
