yeah you could do it, theres a few AE86's in Japan that i know of with this conversion done, but dont expect it to be cheap, fabrication to make it fit will be exspensive.
if you go through with it make sure you post up pics when its done.

JZ engines are about 3 times the length of an AE71 engine bay. OK not quite but you get the point - major structural modifications are required before the engine can even be bolted in. Those 2JZ powered AE86's in Japan are full-house drag cars, and I doubt they'd be much good for anything else.
If you just want to beat Honda's, there are far easier ways of doing it. A well-tuned 4A-GTE should be enough to dispatch almost any Honda.

did you read what i wrote over at twincam.org dude? Its not a viable option unless you want to in a straight line, and have a spare CAD$15000 up your sleeve......
1g-gte, 4agte, 3sgte are all much more viable options, which will fit without coming halfway out your dash, and without tearing the nose off the car. Heck you could even still turn corners with those motors

you fu*kers are boring. Rip into it!
You will need - Sheet metal (0.8mm ).9 and 1.0mm zinc anneal would be my choice)
Oxy Acetylene
Mig and or Tig welder (I like to have both by my side)
4" grinder and 9" grinder c/w cut off discs and grinding pads
Mill and Lathe and various tools for operating both machines
Safety glasses (duh)
Swaging machine
$2000 budget for Earl's fittings
An engine will help (in this case a 2JZ GTE will be perfect and it will keep with the original theme).
Custom tailshaft
You could try the JDM LSD but a 9" will be more appropriate.
A roll cage is also a good idea (but it will detract from the sleeper image unless it is done well).
Prolly custom pedal box and associated master cylinders
Custom front Struts (Lamb are a good brand)
Box the control arms
Wilwood brakes all around (or equivalent)
examine your head (you may be abe to afford to have someone else examine it)
Get a big ass Turbo and some big ass bollocks
Front mount intercooler
Account with Capral aluminium (or Canadian equivalent)
Safety gloves, safety boots, safety first.
Welding helmet, shitload of spare time
20PSI should do while tuning/running it in and then you can get serious with the boost add a double or triple (phwoar) NOS before cruising Ontario's main boulevardes.
Now as long as you have these and the ability to make various jigs, SST or WST's along the way, then you should get out into that ga rage and make it happen. Post some pics along the way.
Good Luck and take NIL crap from that other bunch of heartless pricks.
Roll on the JZE71 - has a nice ring to it.

nahh, triple turbo 20B.. no point stopping at 3L may as well have a crack at 1000hp while you are cutting the front of the car
seriously tho, it can't be that hard to fit the J. if it's too long, just use two smaller radiators split to either side of the motor.. easy
heck you could even bonnet mount the radiators to either side of the bonnet with a nice big fan on each pokng thru would look... interesting....
good luck and take lotsa pics
