im replacin all the engine mounts in the car and the rear bolts that connect the mount to the crossmember is under another crossmember thingo... just wonderin is it right to unbolt that crossmember and get to it or do i have to support it in sumway?

if you have the two side mounts in, you can take all the cross members off

ie, the engine will be supported ok by the two east-west mounts if they are attached properly

you are talking about the wide and flat east-west crossmember yeah?

if the engine is out.. and heck.. even if it isn't.. take it off!

it does nothing when your car is just sitting there with no engine in! lol Just provides the support you need when driving around and stuff

most of the weight goes through the north south one when the engine is in anyway
