It's not something to be proud of but I reckon I must be the owner of the most expensive to maintain car with a value of less than $6500.

This year alone I have spent over $4500 on repairs to the engine and other necessary things on my car.

HG history...

First blown headgasket in 2001 (previous owner repaired it)

Second blown headgasket in 2002 (I put down the professional repair to headgasket as a condition of sale paid for by seller)

Third blow early this year, 18 months after being repaired. (I got a specialist to analyse why... Discovered corrosion on block surface. $3500 and a full rebuilt motor paid for by me)

Fourth blow was yesterday where the car started to chug and barely idle. I stopped immediately and discovered no water in the radiator and the sump completely full of coolant.

The car is 2000km from reaching 200,000 on the odometer. At a guess the engine would only have done 3000-4000km since the rebuild.

All up, in the short time I have owned this car (2yrs) I could have bought it twice with the money I have spent on it. I estimate over $5500-$6000 in 2yrs. It is my daily driver, not some exotic racecar... It shouldn't be like this. My damn muscle disability means I need a car for transport... Walking is not easy.

I am still in peak season for uni work and I am planning to deal with the POS on Monday when uni is over. The mechanic has heard from me and I will make him repair anything that was related to his work. Somehow I think there may be some arguments between us soon... Who else has had to claim big jobs under warranty?

Warranty time!!!!

If not... Junkyard time... Commodore/cheap to fix time. Confused Sad

I am honestly sick of the prices of imported car parts. I love driving my Cressida but am sick of taking rides in towtrucks also.

Buy a 1uz front cut.

Put it all in.

Kiss good bye to your problems.

SERIOUSLY

Everything bolts up.

The wiring should take a day or 2.

Small zorst update.

And you are done.

EDIT: And if you junkyard it, I want some parts Razz

Like I said... It will be done for free probably, under warranty.

I don't like the condition of the body/paint. If I were to do a turbo conversion I would want it to be in better condition. To repaint a car is a huge expense so I'd be better off buying another one.
