ke70 cable clutch installation? Thu, 04 November 2004 13:33 Go to next message
sorry if i seem like a dumbass but we all gotta start somewhere right? Confused currently, me and a mate have just installed the

gearbox but i cant figure out how the cable clutch hooks up. i know the end has to hook onto the release lever sticking out of the

clutch housing but exactly how this is done i cant figure out. i read the cable has to slot through a hole in the bellhousing but

which hole is this refering to? i also think im missing a couple bits off the end of the cable so if anyone could even just post a

piccy, it would be really helpful. i bought the ke with the box out of the car so i dont know what it looked like already installed.

cheers.

eddie.

i actually already bought the gregorys manual but it assumes that the clutch is already installed and you're adjusting it. it just

says to take note of where all the stuff is bolted on so you can put it back into the original placings. but like i said... the clutch and

box weren't in the car so i never got to see where everything was placed.

thats what i was gonna send you, look harder on page 73.
to install basically all you have to do is:
1.slip the clutch end of the cable through the bellhousing (the hole that lines up with the release lever)
2.bolt the cable support on
3.Put the "E" clip on ( before the bellhousing, engine side)
4.slide thogh firewall
5.Slip over clutch pedal ( notch on the top of it)
6.Place the second "E" clip in

PS. On the gearbox end of the cable, there is a removable part, the "clevis", that is most probably the part that is missing as it just slips off the end of the cable
