Hey,
I've sourced a JDM ECU from a gen 1 3sge from japan.. I'm wondering how it might improve the performance (i'll be running optimax always) on my Gen 1 3sge Aus spec...
Its in a st162 celica sx!
Regards
Adrian

shouldnt reduce engine life. AUs spec cars are different due to emission control mainly.

Hello Adrian,
It probably won't make a huge difference because the JDM models have a higher compression as well.
Aussie one's are relatively low compression so that will limit power somewhat.
My 2c worth !

You might notice a slight increase but you would find a better improvement if you advance the static timing by a few degrees in conjunction with installing the JDM ECU. Let us know how you get on.
