Respray body / retrime interior fix Fri, 05 November 2004 13:33 Go to next message
i've got 90 model sx blue celica, paint faded and flakey on roof and bonet.

just rufly how much it would cost for a full respray of the car, take everything back to metal ?

also interior is pretty bashed up by the UV as its been in the sun for 2-3 years, does these items needs to be replaced ? the dash and door trims etc melting and crackling away.

car is pretty old got engine replacement about 200 000 kms and its now on 270 000 kms, this replacement engine woulda done about 140 000 kms. but everything runs fine still.

it is worth fixing ?
thanks
Bob

the cost of paint varies so much! And I'd only suggest going back to bare metal if you had to....(bare metal will rust, why give the metal the opportunity to if you don't have to?). At a guess, say $2000 -> $5000 for a full spray job? Confused

As for the interior stuff, some of the plastic trim might come up ok with 'vinyl dye', if it is just faded. But if the plastic is breaking off and what not, you really don't have much of an option to replace it...

Cheers
Wilbo
