RWD 4AGE exhaust manifold Sun, 06 October 2002 14:24 Go to next message
just a quick question about the durability of these parts. i know they flow well, and are almost as good as many aftermarket extractors (when mated to correct length/size secondary pipes and exhaust).

i ask as i plan to tidy my engine bay up further, including a quick match port, fine sand, remove of top cover and mounting tabs and have the manifold HPC coated. however i don't want this expense if the manifold is likely to crack any time soon after.

another question. can the RWD manifold be easily modified to fit a 20V head? ie, enough material available to slot bolt holes at each end?

I think the 20V heads have different shaped ports to the 16V heads.

The ports are the same on both heads, but the studs on the far ends are in slightly different positions, but it's an easy mod (slot the holes in the manifold) to make them fit.

anyone had experience with the RWD manifolds craking or failing in any other way under normal circumstances?

I meant will the exhaust manifold be extremely closed to the clutch cylinder, and in the way of the clutch lines??
