1UZ into MA70 chassis

I'm interested in getting a 1UZ into my ma70. I've searched the forums up and down, and found only information on a Cressida swap (btw, very nice work V8Cressida).
Was wondering if anyone had some information on this subject, webpage, documents, etc. Info like motormounts, which series of car to pull the engine out of, all the tech stuff.
Thanks
ps. Yes i'm from the states I've read your site and i'm interested in all the conversions you guys do. Peeps from the states here are blasted for wanting to put anything other than an I6 into the supra. while the I6 is fine, to me the lexus v8s are just a marvel of tech and raw power, thus has very good potintial for great things. anyways, don't rip on me too much b/c i'm from the states
Later peeps

this conversion is being done as we speak by, "HKSPete" and there are a few others that will be doing it in the future, "biased99" and "justcallmefrank" i think.
also "norbie" knows a bloke who has successfully done this conversion, if u can chase these guys up on the forums im sure they'll be able give you some info..
have a good one.

I've got mine going into a Mk2 Supra once I've got the body and stuff sorted. Your best bet would be get hold of HKSPete and see if he's cool about telling you all the stuff hes found out.

I'm currently doing one now.
Get a MA70 with the JZ70 crossmember (90,91 I think).
Then get a Soarer front cut and transfer it all over.
Get a belhousing made, or if your going with the auto gearbox then you HAVE TO keep the standard computer as it does something with the gear changing.
I'm putting my R154 gearbox up to it and am getting a belhousing made by www.carbontech.com.au (mention Peter with the supra) and he might be more helpful.
Actually fitting it in is the stage I'm in now. More on this later. At the moment I think I'll need to modify the exhaust by taking a half inch off the width so it doesn't interfere with the double-wishbone suspension.
I'm also putting in a Davies Craig thermo fan & EWP.
Anything specific you want to know?
Can it be done? -> I don't know ... yet.
hope this helps

Pete,
Are you definite that the Soarer has a front sump? I think I've asked this before, but I'm still curious

Soarer has a rear mount (I think). I got one sent up from adelaide as the lexus definately has a front sump, and hence couldn't go in with my crossmember

Don't know which lexus. All I know is I've got a 1UZ that supposedly came out of a lexus, has a front mount sump. I had to get a rear mount sump which supposedly came out of a Soarer.

Thanks for the info. Keep me updated on how things go with you HKSPete. Would like to see some pics if you got them.
So it's decided that one would need a rear sump 1uz for it to fit the ma70? just want to be sure on it.

Depends which MA70 you have. Mine is a '91 so it has the same crossmember as the JZ70 Supra.
