if anyone has any tips/suggestions or if anyone might have any useful websites...please post up..
thanks.

i did the timing belt on a 5S-FE very similar, took 4 hrs start to finsih, just take your time and think before you act and check the timing marks

i'm actually thinking about buying a bomb to drive around
while i pull the engine out of this one and attempt a rebuild.. i dunno if this is a good idea tho since my mechanical experience is quite minimal..
i'm pretty sure its also done a gasket and seals probably need replacing.. i really dont know if i can do it or not.. but i'd like to have a go..
or who thinks that is a bad idea and i should gain my mechanical experiences on smaller engines.

Im no expert on the gte engine, however I broke the belt on mine and I am guessing that your engine will be a non interference engine like mine, meaning the valves wont hit and bend as such so chances are there will be no additional damage.
