Time to show you all my car, now it's fully registered and insured Wink

It's an externally stock 1986.5 MA70, targa top, on the inside it has a 7M-GTE with some turbo timer, not sure of the brand (but I doubt I'll keep it when the car gets built up) also some shitty sounding blow off valve (I want to get rid of that too). No idea what brand the strut brace is either Wink ahwell, now onto the photos!

Planned mods:-
HKS metal head gasket (hahah 7m's)
Change the timing belt (not really a mod, but I'm pretty sure it needs changing)
Highflow the turbo
bigger intercooler
coilovers
and some wheels like this http://www.tyres.com/upload_images/Advanti/Maxx1.jpg
and I'm sure a bunch of other stuff along the way

Sweet!

Nice car man. Good choice in rim style.

How much did the 7M-GTE conversion cost you all up? I might be doing the same next year...

Great car!

I bought the car after the conversion was done, but before it was engineered (got that done at KCF Rallysport in Kipparing, good place!) It was $7500 all up, with 200,000ish on the clock.

$7500 for an MA70 with a fresh turbo motor is a good deal! Congrats.

I'm not entirely sure how fresh it is, I think he had in in there for a while before selling it. I'm not entirely sure but I think the timing belt needs changing (as I said in my first post) because when I start it up it makes a squeeking sound that goes away pretty quick, and sometimes when I release the accelerator when I'm going pretty slow it drops below idle speed for a few seconds before bringing it's self back up.
Either way I'll get it serviced soon, find out what's going on in the car.

Nice ride Chris. Wink

That squeak is almost certainly the timing belt or whichever belt goes to the alternator from the crank. I had the same issue on my 3S-GTE before it was tightened up, but it wasn't the timing belt. It was a separate belt. Sounds like yours is just old or loose.

So what do you want to do with it in it's "build-up"?

Cheers. Smile

Well it will be my daily driver (selling the cressida if anyone is interested Wink) so nothing too extravagent, I hope to have it tuned / powerful enough to eventually run 11-12's down the quater, while still being a comfortable ride.
Maybe learn to do a bit of drifting in it aswell? Either way it's a hell of alot more fun than driving my Cressida.
