ay
i own a ra23 celica as some of you woukld know, and i was thinking about trading in the old 1ggze, for a 1ggte and keeping it in there.
i think its a good idea cause it should be a relitivly easy conversion and all.
what do you think??

Do it! There was a 1GGTE in a hilux at the last dyno day I went to running factory turbo's and factory ECU and it made 180rwkw (been like that for well over a year too), that would be fun in an old school celica!
I also know of a couple running single turbo and getting around the 200rwkw mark.
An easy swap if you already have a 1g in there. With potentially a hell of a lot more grunt/fun

if you are referring to GZE dave's old RA23, then you are throwing away quite possibly the best condition 1ggze out there......
otherwise it wouldnt be too hard.

you bastard, you always make me think twice!!
the motor hasnt been looked after by the previous owner and has some problems, that will cost me as much if not more than a conversion, i know its a 'one of a kind' but its a twin turbo motor were up against!!

From what i've read on the post from this forum it's not worth trying to use the same block .
IT's just the little things like mounting brackets and those kind of things that makes it too much hard work.
But if u have alot of free time u should do it. As far as i know nobody has actually done it
