Adjustable pan hard rods. Mon, 08 November 2004 07:26 Go to next message
Not being a 'solid rear axle' person this is all a bit new to me!
My st141 has been lowered by the previous owner with after market shocks etc but the left hand sid wheel rubs in the wheel arch occasionally and more when there is weight in the back

Correct me if i am wrong if the rod is not the problem?

I have inquired about trying to find one but fulcrum etc don't have one listed

So i guess the question is , is there a similar one from another model of early 80's toyotas that would fit and maybe be able to get an adjustable one of that model?

or if any one has a IRS Very Happy as i hear they came with irs on some models?

TIA
Ryan.

Go to an engineering shop and get your factory panhard rod modified... it's a pretty simple procedure.

did some more investigating on the IRS thingy as i would ditch the diff i have now in favour of the IRS and rule out the need to have a pan hard rod at all

I have been told the advanti CSi 2.4 came with the IRS but the source of information was unsure of the swapability of the diffs due to the diffrences in floor pan ie one having trailing arms and the other having a diff unit mounted to the chassis

cutting the pan hard rod was my first option and could do it myself etc as thats what i do i just wanted to know wether there was an aftermaRket one that could be bought of the shelf Smile Smile Smile

either or i probably wont rest till i find out wether the irs fits the 141 with the solid diff and i really want discs on the back too!

Yes, floorpan is different. If you want IRS sell your car and buy an IRS model.
