Has anyone used or know about the Bendix Metal king pads? If so what are they like?

They are a bit of a poor-mans motorsport pad. Generally don't feel as good as some of the more expensive brands and need to be warmed up a bit before they really bite. Other than that I can't tell you much never used them for a prolonged period of time so as to see what the wear is like etc, sorry Sad

mate uses em on his ae82 and swears by them when they warm up. Must admit they felt good when i drove it.

Not as good as the lucas pads on my mr2 but i think my brakes are bigger.

i used them on my rolla back when i had pad fire problems...

they have little friction when cold..
they have more friction when hot, but still didn't seem to have as much as cold standard pads..

but they never caught fire Wink

have to be careful when cold and remember to brake a lot earlier for the first few stops, and also on highway..

if you are trying to upgrade from standard bendix pads, look for something else Wink

oh, and disc wear was minimal also.. i didn't get any scoring etc that some ppl report.

Cya, Stewart

Most people who swear by Metal Kings have never tried good quality pads. Sure they're a lot better than a set of $15 pads at Supercheap, but they're still the Maccas of brake pads. Smile

I use bendix metal kings, for what i use them for they're pretty good. I know they're not the best, i know i can get better, but for $60 for my last set they do the job.
