Hey just wondering are engine dampeners just a big wank or do they actually do something.

Here's what i'm talking about..

Some Toyota's have something similar from the factory (eg MA61 Supra). They help reduce engine vibrations.

and if you have terrible engine mounts, it may stop the engine twisting around as much....

Yeah, I notice that on my ma61 parts car, but it was ditched on the MX73, which shares the exact same mounts, and almost an identical crossmember.

V6 Camries, Avalons have these stock as well.
Mounted to the front of the gearbox where the engine mount is on 4 cylinder versions.
