Hi everyone. First of all just wanted to know if these are the starter motors on both these engines are the same/similar and if the 3T starter can be used on a 3TGTE? If not, has anyone got a 3TGTE starter they would like to part with??
Thanx

Jack,
The 3T (or 2T ) Starter will work but the 3TGTEU starter is apparently a reduction type so is different.

Jack: what gearbox are you planning on using??
I have the starter motor that was on my 3TGTEU here, but its for the T50 gearbox.... Dunno if its the same for the W55 supra style box, you are welcome to try it.
let me know.
Cheers

hey mate, how are ya! I saw your piece of art on Jamies engine the other day. I got his plenum and inlet manifold of him. Nice bit of gear. Anyway, the starter motor would be great. I wonder if different gearboxes do make changes to what starter can/cant be used. Speak to you later mate. See ya

Jack, that starter is the same as the one i have on my engine. Even though you change gearboxes the flywheel isn't changed so therfore the starter is the same. They are reduction type on 3TGTEU's and i had a look and the 3T one will work just may not be as strong as the correct one.
Have a good one.

when are you next coming to canberra?
I'm possibly heading down the south coast this saturday, if you are planning on heading to malua bay, then i'd be happy to drop the starter off to you.
Cheers
