Hello all,
I was just wondering with the gze coil packs that i have on my MAP sensor GZE engine, Where do i get the "tach" signal from to install an aftermarket 5 inch tacho? the wiring diagram for the tacho illustrates that i connect it to the negative side of my coil, but i have coil packs so i have absolutely no idea where to connect it to? It also illustrates a computer connection?
Anyone able to help me with this issue please?
Many Thanks,
Daniel

If you're running the factory ecu then the signal comes from the igniter. Alternatively you can take it from the "-ve" spade connector located on the outside of the diagnostics box. If you have aftermarket then there should be an output on the ecu.

why dont you just use the stock tacho? not big enough for you?
if you want the diagram to make your stock tacho work with a gze, email me and i can send you a diagram.

a nice little CS-X tacho dash or very classy SX style dash would do the strick.
All thats needed is 3 small parts from Jaycar and you dont even need a "tacho booster".
If using aftermarket... then the output is from the ignitor, the ECU or the diagnostics connector....
