Jab what?!!?!
Stud removal/replacement in sprinter. Wed, 10 November 2004 14:37 Go to next message
Just hoping someone could outline basically what is in the process to remove and replace the studs in a sprinter (rear & front)
I snapped one.... and also bought a set of slightly longer ones to accomodate for wheel spaces.

Just so I can avoid doing things the long/hard way as I usually end up doing.
Thnx all.

put a wheel nut on and hammer it to get the studs out without damaging the thread.

on the rear theyre piss easy with drums.undo handbrake and remove drums then just smash them out

with disks you need to unbolt the caliper and disc then smash them out.

with the front you need to remove the hub. take wheel off, then caliper. then remove dust cap and split pin and undo the nut and remove the whole hub, then remove the 4 bolt and remove the disc from the hub then smash them out

To get them back in, just use a wheel nut on and a few good washers and a rattlegun, and progressively tighten it and pull it into the hub. Be careful though, you can tear the stud within the hub doing this. Then you need new hubs.
