I blew my head gasket last night Well, I already have the top end torn down and ready for reassembly, but I need to locate either a head gasket or a top end gasket set for my 1G-GTE motor. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? Is there any Japanese Toyota dealer that people use here for new parts? I called a place in the UK, and they're asking me for chassis numbers and such, but my car is an American Toyota, so my chassis numbers will do no good at all. Please someone help, I need to get this thing running!!!!
Thanks- Armin

Well, I got a hold of an HKS headgasket. I put it all together with a new timing belt, iridium plugs, fresher turbos, and an HKS BOV, now it's running great.

If thats a Metal head gasket thats a bit riski unless u o ringed the head or serviced it flat.. How much was the Gasket anyways.. And what did you do to the turbos..

The people at HKS said that the gasket will work fine without getting the head o-ringed, and I gave the head a very minor flat mill. Maybe .005", just to clean it up. I found out that in the box of spares that I got with the car, there was a new HKS gasket....lol, and after all of my worrying. I believe it is the thicker 1.6mm gasket. It was pretty thick, 2 thin steel layers as the outer layers, and one thick one in the middle. I also made all of the other gaskets required to put the motor together myself, since a complete gasket set is over $300 US. As far as the turbos, I have a spare 1GGTE motor, with lower miles on it than the one in the car, but it has a rod knock, so I took the turbos off of that motor and gave them a thorough cleaning. The car is running great!!!

My Lo boost setting is set all the way down, and it is 12psi. The Hi boost is set a little up from that and I get 16-17psi.
About the HKS PFC FCON, i just saw one on ebay last week. I just searched to see if it was still on there, but I don't see it anymore. Search ebay periodically under 1ggte and 1g-gte.
