Turbo... Twin-turbo... Octuple-turbo?!?! Thu, 11 November 2004 07:01 Go to next message
That's right. 8 bloody turbo's. Here's a pik for those of you that haven't seen it already:

http://members.iinet.net.au/~josh_and_sarah/8-turbo-1.JPG

It was at this year's sema. And it actually runs too! 730 HP worth of running. Yes there are better ways of making 730HP - but none of them are this cool Smile

Yeah it starts - and puts out 730HP. They talk about it in the sema review on overboost.

wank factor and pointlessness aside, it's a damn nice example of engineering/paintwork/bodywork/customisation etc

gotta atleast admire them

Why doesn't anyone ever publish cost figures for these cars? I was reading a mag which had a fully custom twin supercharged mustang. The guy had spent 18 hours a day, 4 days a week for 2.5 years. Who can afford that sort of time? Let alone the materials involved...

Cheers,
Dan

The point is it's a show car. Standing out from the crowd will obviously give you more chance of winning, the engineering of the thing is probably excellent.

Whats the point of doing it if it's a drag > probably none, but you cant compare oranges to apples.

I think its cool. Who cares how much it cost or the time involved, it's a passion if they enjoy doing it so be it. I like spending my time diving, surfing and to some extent modifying cars whats the point of that? it consumes time, but i enjoy it.

BTW what turbos are they?
