W00h000!
Twice as ricey and 10 times as fun! Very Happy

In all seriousness, it is pretty damn good fun. The whole uber-pretty graphics and weather and stuff is mhad - and wandering around the city looking for poeple to race rocks too.

I know, I know. I'm a big riceboy. But hey, better I take out my rice-fetishes in a game than on my baby Laughing

Yea, the demo is not that bad. I like the free roam mode in it and playing outrun with the other ricers.

First thing to do though is from where you start, go straight ahead to the car shop and get the faster car. Smile You'll also notice it actually sounds different to the one you start in.

I don't like the NOS "reward" system though, where you do tricks and your nitrous fills up. It must be magic. But it is handy for when in a race you can earn some extra for when you've already spent it all.

You're probably in a bodykit workshop then Smile

Get to a performance shop. Then you can get all the headers and cams and stuff. Need to win a few races first tho. Just find chumps on the street and race them thru the alleys - most of them get lost pretty quickly, so it's easy money Smile

Damnit! The city is too friggin big, and I keep getting lost. I can't find megalow's parts anymore! I know there's a place that sells the turbo kits near burger king, but I like megalow's cause they do bulk-buy discounts Smile

The little details in the game are way cool - like the way you can dyno-tune after each mod you put on for better results. And the whole completely tune/customise every component of your suspension, gear ratio's etc. Very grand tourismo. I like it.

I'm up to 111.7rwkw on my sprinter - go baby go! My stock silvia still has more power though Sad

The sounds are great too - like your engine note changing with a lot of the mods, and the noises it makes when you go in driveways and over the kurb - very realistic - always makes me cringe! And have you noticed your GPS cuts out if you go into the massive underground tunnels or have a huge stack? Smile

That's the ticket.

You unlock the hummer pretty early on in the game - but I haven't unlocked the stage 3 upgrades yet. I prefer the challenge of unlocking them by playing rather than just cheating Razz

The handling/physics are nothing earth-shattering, but they're decent. Like, you can feel all the suspension changes you make, and it's slippery when it rains and stuff (so the 4wd cars spank everyone). It's no racing simulator by any means, but it's good - I find racing sims pretty boring.

When do you get decent cars?

I've been playing this game all day today and am STILL using my first choice car (240sx) because all the others suck arse. Especially that corolla. Sorry, but it does. The only new cars available so far are the two big 4wd's and the hummer. I mean, why the hell bother wasting car slots on those useless things? Actually I just remembered, I have access to the triburon as well, but that's worse than a hummer.

Anyways, I still don't have turbo available yet either. I've just unlocked that hilly rich district as well and have found all the hidden shops in the now three available to me districts. They wern't hard to find either, I just drove around and around, and, yea.

I've also found that just like the first game, I loath the drag race. I like that URL race though, on a track is great. Smile

Also, has anyone else had the car "stick" in bounce mode when you get the hydro's? It's pretty funny trying to drive and the car is bouncing. Smile

ive only played for about an hour and a half.. maybe 2hrs.. tiburon is HEAPS better than the 240sx(which i had 1st).. now ive just got a turbo'd celica..
amazingly the tiburon drifted HEAPS better than 240sx. Ive just openned up the second area aswell.

URL race kicks arse, i dont mind drag.. i HATE circuit, as i did in number 1.. will win all race until last corner where a car will hit me out of no-where and have to do the whole boring race again.. the rest are cool though

so no idea if i can sell cars?

I like circuit. Smile Best thing is the stupid computer players use all their nitrous right at the start, so while they may initially get ahead, I find I end up easily overtaking them all before the first lap. But my absolute fav is sprint. Smile I think mostly because that I know that when I hit the finish, that's it, no more laps.

I finally got the turbo and the celica and the lexus unlocked. I left the celica alone and chose the IS instead. Smile

Only thing now is I have to get some more cash to max out the lexus. All I need to do to it to bring it up to the level I had the 240sx at is some carbon fibre parts, hydro's and exhaust tip, and some other little things like underbody neon, trunk system, window tint, etc, (all bling shit). Otherwise I've got the rest of the performance stuff. I just had to. I couldn't stand a slow car after driving the 240 all day. Smile Next up though is tail lights. I can't stand the stock clear lens crap the IS has. That goes for real life as well.

Anyone else done something silly like I did? I was on a run where I had to get to a magazine guy and he was up in the hills, I was so intent on navigating all the twists that I glanced at my mini map with 15 seconds to spare in time, and realised that I had overshot by a long way where I had to go. Doh.

Doh.

did it unlock the IS at same time as celica?, didnt for me.. thats screwed
im completely broke with the turbo'd celica...
theres no way to transfer your performance parts from other cars, is there?

I don't know if it did unlock the IS at the same time as I got
the messages that there were new cars, but then I'd get
sidetracked and do a few more races before I bother to remember
to check out the car dealer. I just found it was there.

And no, you can't change parts between cars. I tried it.
I took some parts off the 240sx and then switched cars, but they
didn't appear when I went to put them on the IS.

But just do some more races. They're easy enough. The only races
I've lost at are drag races, (I so hate them), the rest are too easy. Smile EDIT: There's also plenty of other races that don't appear
on your map around the city as well. Just listen for when those guys
phone you and say some shit like "it's somewhere near the stadium
but I don't have an exact location".

But what about that other race? I think it's race-x or something
like that. It's where you race around the drift tracks, but without
the slippery surface. That's great. I find that once I'm in the lead
I stay there. Smile

Have you done the one at the airport yet?

EDIT: I think I know where I got the IS from. I got a 2nd sponsor
and did their shit. I think the IS might have been that reward.
