I notice that some of the FWD 4agte set-up relocate there oil filter.
i think they relocate it due to clearance of exhaust manifold.
is it posibble not to relocate the oil filter?
any ideas or pictures.
thanks

It's possible, but then why wouldn't you move the filter, and while you're at it, fit a full-flow cooler too?

Sure is possible. Not a bad thing to do on RWD either. Makes it easier to design a decent exhaust manifold, and then get your hands in there to change the bugger!
By the way, where are all of the 400hp 20 valve 4AG turbos that were "gonna" be built a year ago? Why cant you run 30psi with a factory ECU MrShin? Don't you just need a fuel cut defender and special seat covers?

With a healthy dose of both, thanks Dr. Witzl...

Damn, didn't know I only needed seat covers, and to think, I went out and bought a Motec. I wonder what would have happened if I'd bought Motec seat covers
Leighp, I'll explain that statement: unless you're a severe tightarse, move the filter, you'll thank yourself countlessly for doing so later.

Ha ha. All just a bit of fun 'ey.
Motorsport connections sell a nicely made billet remote filter adapter. It fits the 4A nicely, as its not a huge diameter like the generic cast items made for holdens/fords.
From memory the 4A filter uses 3/4" 16 tpi thread, tell them this & they will supply you the correct adapter.
Cheers
Phil

Motorsport connections are in Seven Hills, sydney. Phone 02 9838 7272
They do have kits, i'm unsure of the price, but the spin-on billet adapter that I was talking about is around $65-70.

Yep its possible but oil filter relocation is not required for FWD 4agtes if the manifold clears it fine. Mine has enough room to change the filter with ease.
Could be a good idea though if going to fit an oil cooler.
I have one but have not got round to it yet. The car does not get alot of track work apart from a visit to the drags everyone once in a while. Oil temps remain reasonable.

Well I wouldnt say mine is all that great but easily clears the oil filter anyway.
All depends on turbo positioning I'd say.
