compare the wiring on the two.
all the plugs are there, but more than likely the pin configuration will be different. Its real easy just to follow where the tracks go on the back of the cluster on the plastic circuit board thingy. compare the two and swap pins where necesary.
I had to do this when going from the AE71 -> TE72 4dr dash.

does the ke70 have like a plug just sitting behind its original inst panel for the tacho? or do u actually have to install a rpm sensor or sommin?

Ok, You can take your Ke70 / Ae71 / S / CS / SE / instrement panel out and replace it with an xx / CSX taco intresment panel. There are no wiring issues / problems. You liturally take out the non-tacko box thing ( 3 connections at back, all differenct sizes, so u cannot miss the size differences ) and then liturally just plug in the CSX one - everything works. Easy.

It all sounds so simple... just installed a 4AGE in KE70 pan van, everything works except the AE71 tacho dash! it does wierd things with the brake light and the indicator lights stay on all the time (just on the dash)?? The original dash still works fine though. Any ideas, bad earth in the new dash maybe??
Cheers
Glen.

After pulling one apart, the green comes from little plastic inserts that are glued on the inside of the light fitting bits. My gut tells me you could probably just put some different colour cellophane or perspex in the position to colour the lights the way you want. I think the actual viewing window is just slightly yellowed, but pretty much clear.
Also, I've got a JDM KE70 dash and the plugs are different (Aswell as the way funkier display ) Too bad I don't have a tacho version of it or I would actually use it.

not worried about the green colour of the lights, its the "yellowed tinge" im talken about. After using a T-18 with a clear dash for so long the yellow tinge looks stupid

Have now tried an AE71 tacho dash and a KE70 tacho dash, neither of which have worked in the panel van... i wouldn't think both would have bad earths when the original still works??
KE70 one was worse even, made all the relays flutter??
Any ideas?? (besides trying to isolate individual wires)
Cheers
Glen.
