hey all,
well i've posted a few before, but still a little hazy. everyone is still telling me to search the forums and stuff, but i havn't found anything. so what i really need to know is, which option i'm better faced with, a 100kw 16valve 4age, or a 4agze. now i know that everyone of you are gonna be thinking 4agze. but, i have to look at it from a financial point of view. i am running a 4a-c now, so either of these engines will impress me with power. also i'm lookin at the conversion for economical, seening though i picked up my car very cheap, and it is in great condition, if i put in an age or agze i can sell my car for much more.
i know that there is a little screwing around to convert both of these engines. what i want to know is which engine is the least screwing around??? i have read the FWD to RWD conversion on this site, and also have read two other conversion pages on agze's. to me they don't seem all that hard or expensive. but when confronting ppl with prices i am shocked. roughly how much for each conversion do u think i'm looking at. i can get a 4agze engine/gearbox/electrics for $1750 from a jap importer, what other expenses will i need??? i can get a 100kw 16valve 4age engine/gearbox/electrics from a jap importer for $1250. what other expesnses will i need for this conversion. am i better off buying half-cuts?? sorry bout all the questions and stuff, but i must know this information. it's VERY important as i want to get the conversion done ASAP. any replies will be greatly appreciated.

If cost is a concern then get a rwd 4age. you can still use the g/box that is in the car so you dont need a new one. are the packages that you priced with fwd or rwd g/box.chances are that they will be the stock g/boxes that come on the motors so they will be no good to you.it will cost alot less for the N/A conversion.

u gott think bout the fuel system.. ie new fuel pump, lines, surge tank maybe.
umm the gze flywheel wont fit the t50 box so ull need a GE fly wheel and clutch kit.

I'm also curious about this conversion and related costs.
Though mostly im wondering where everyone has gone to get the wiring and electrical work done to convert to fuel injection.
most places say for an old car its to much hassle/work but prob. at least $1000

If you get complete loom from original engine it can be modified to suit the AE86. I have done several looms where all you have to connect is +,-, start signal, oil pressure, temp, tacho, and fuel pump. $1000 is from an auto-elec I suppose who has to charge an hourly rate.

There is a place at Tomago (near nawcastle) that will mod the loom that comes with the motor for around $500,they will also check the A/F ratio just to make sure it is running correctly. and if you drop of your car in the morrnin they can normaly have it done by the afternoon
