How hard is it to replace the 1s-ci with the above? is the wiring the same?

Wiring is definitely totally, completely and utterly different.
Grab a 3S-GE...it's good - sure it's not the most powerful engine ever, but it will crap on the 1S out of the SV20.

and warrior has a semi-busted 3SGE with no loom for $100 for sale!  get it rebuilt for $600 bux for all the parts and labour (do the work yourself, easy peasy), or not too much more if you drop the engine off somewhere
and you have a BLING Camry! w00t!

Depends what you are after if you want slightly more power go for the 3S-FE (better fuel ecconomy with this one) if you wan't a lot more power go 3S-GE wiring is different as FWD boy said we have 2 Cams here ones got a 1S-ci and the other (mine) has a 3S-FE.the 1S is petrol injected not as quick as the 2L but it goes well
