Hey everyone, I am finally in a position to get my car on the road after 3 years driving ban...i had the 3tgteu rebuilt and a complete gasket kit put through it 3 years ago,but have not started it since,we put oil in the cylinders and used a socket to turn the crank but that is it...i have heard mixed things about what might happen if i try and get it running...can anyone please give me some advice on what problems to expect and also what i can do to prevent them if possible...
Thanks

if your oil pump is driven by the dizzy.. take the dizzy out and prime the oil calleries by turning the oil pump.... make sure the filter is full and the galleries are filled..
turb the motor over for a while by hand, make sure ignition bits are up to scratch, drain and replace fuel, and away you go..
perhaps..

Yep, prime the fuel, oil and ignition systems and start it up. If the oil has been sitting there for three years, you may like to replace if before running, and again after a hot cycle too.
You must have been a real bad boy to lose your licence for three years?!!!

cool,i was mainly concerned that the gaskets may have dried up and possibly cracked, with the oil we only got an oil can and squirted some oil down the sparkplug chambers,we didnt put more than a few squirts down there...anyways i will take it slwo prime everything up and gp from there...
yeh i lost it for drink driving then driving without a licence silly silly.
